At a glance
Pantheon closed its eighth secondaries fund at $6 billion, double the $3 billion target, according to AltAssets.
GenNx360 closed a $285 million continuation fund for Whitsons, with Churchill leading the vehicle; no price was disclosed.
Pantheon closed its eighth secondaries fund at $6 billion, double the $3 billion target, according to AltAssets. The same reporting put the firm's 2025 deployment at about $3.35 billion across 17 secondary transactions.
That divides to roughly $197 million a deal. The deployment figure is firmwide, though; the reporting does not split it by vehicle or tie it to the fund that just closed, so the average describes Pantheon's overall cadence rather than the new fund's. On that cadence, $6 billion is about 1.8 times the 2025 total. Whether the firm can put the larger pool to work faster is the question the fund size raises, and the reporting does not address it.

A close and a reported vehicle
GenNx360 closed a $285 million continuation fund for Whitsons, with Churchill leading the vehicle; no price was disclosed. PE Hub separately reported that LGT and Coller EQT co-led EMK Capital's €1.25 billion continuation fund for VDK Groep, a Netherlands-based technical installation group operating in five European countries. That report describes a vehicle but not a completed close, and it carried no price either.
Size is the one number both continuation disclosures share, and it says how much capital each vehicle holds rather than what the assets were valued at. A price would show whether the businesses went in above, below or at their prior marks. Neither account gives one, so the €1.25 billion for VDK Groep and the $285 million for Whitsons can be compared as vehicle sizes in different currencies, not as prices or as judgments on the underlying companies.
Ares files for Stegosaurus
Ares filed an Oct. 14 Form D notice for a secondaries vehicle called Stegosaurus. The offering size is undisclosed. The notice lists Ares Global Structured Solutions Management LP and Ares Global Structured Solutions LLC among related persons, along with Matthew Jill and Nathan Walton.
The coverage does not say which of those entities would manage the vehicle or what it would hold; the notice establishes that the offering exists and who is named on it. On the record so far, Stegosaurus is a name and a filing, not a fund with a size.
Across these disclosures the shape is consistent: sizes for the pools of capital, silence on the transactions that fill them. Pantheon's fund closed at $6 billion against a $3 billion target, with an average deal of about $197 million on last year's pace; the two continuation vehicles carry €1.25 billion and $285 million with no price attached; the Ares filing carries no size at all.
